The stunning coastline that wraps around much of the southwest is a constant draw for many couples looking for their ideal wedding! There are many venues that offer a sea view or as featured in our ‘sea glass & mermaids’ marquee wedding inspiration shoot –  why not opt for a pop up venue with a vintage marquee supplied here from Blue Fizz Events, just mere footsteps away from the shoreline?

Sea glass was my inspiration with its soft frosted hues alongside the driftwood collected from the sandbanks after the storms of winter. A simple palette and a carefree feel to this ultra chilled out wedding inspiration.

The cake exceeded expectations with shards of sugar glass glinting in the sun sparkling off the water , dramatic against the rocky backdrop magically conjured up by Sugar Mamas Cakery.

Our white wood tables from Virginias Vintage Hire were in no need of fussy dressing apart from bespoke frosted bottles that I up cycled set in amongst a tangle of driftwood, hand dyed napkins and bamboo crockery! The stationary was created by Nikki at Knots and Kisses, I asked for a pale seaweed motif and sea glass background in muted tones, I wanted to feature the bottles as table numbers and requested the wine labels to co ordinate with the whole look.  I found a window frame washed up on the beach and immediately knew I wanted to use it as a part of this shoot and the table plan worked perfectly fluttering in the sea breeze.

The tables were completed by the addition of stunning arrangements of driftwood and plants, greenery and blooms inspired by the landscape by Brompton Buds who also created our perfect driftwood archway for the wedding ceremony farming the horizon of blue sea and rugged cliffs across Croyde in North Devon. The bouquet was a perfect arrangement of trailing blooms and driftwood perfect for our barefoot bride.

Made from natural cream, waxed canvas with featuring wooden poles and hemp guy-ropes, we offer marquee hire across the south west to anyone looking for a luxury tent that’s stylish inside and out – and suited to any weather.

Decorative wooden finials and a scalloped valance with burgundy piping add character and charm, and the internal drapes are cream cotton linings. You’ll also find the walls very easy to remove to open the tent up and create entrances at any point.

Such a colourful & healthy array of cuisine from foodie creatives Seadog.  Based in Devon they specialise in innovative world street food inspired dishes that take our local Devon catch on a wondrous journey across the globe picking up influence from Asia, the Middle East, Europe, latin America and beyond.

The brides make up was perfected by Jasmine at Grey Mink to give a bronzed glow and a Smokey eye that worked perfectly with our surf and salt spray curls created Charlotte at Tangles.

The dress was a creation of my own as well as Stylist at Blue Fizz Events I have been a dress designer for many years opting to work with many barefoot and eco conscious brides.  inspired by seaweed and fluid waves. I work with organic fibres and here I used organic crepe muslin to give a simple Grecian silhouette with strands of silk that were wild in the wind and echoed the movement of seaweed in the waves. I used vintage and up cycled jewellery to create the shoulder embellishments including shell shards.

Our groom wore a selection of laid back items from Samuel Daw and Co Barnstaple teamed with casual trousers and footwear to achieve a semi smart look suitable for a fresh outdoors ceremony and chilled after party including a stunning pop up banquet provided by Seadog .

In all there are many beachside wedding themes but the subtle shades and softness of the sea glass that first inspired me here was carried out in the whole theme throughout and we ended the day with a sunset and stroll along the sea perfect for any couple to end a perfect day !
