Romance is in the air and proposals are on the lips of every wistful and lovestruck groom-to-be. Ladies – if you find yourself somewhere special with the one you love …you may just be in for a little surprise! This year, Blue Fizz has had the pleasure of arranging two beautiful engagement proposals, both coincidentally on the wild, rugged and beautiful North Cornish Coast – close to Boscastle.

The Vintage Secret Hideaway
Our first proposal was all about sentiment. Our groom-to-be wanted to capture a particular moment in time at a place which was of great significance to himself and his future fiancée.
Our couple had stayed at the beautiful Old Rectory in St Juliot many months before, and for them this had been a very special time for them both. Our brief was to style and dress a breathtaking lookout point with vintage simplicity and elegance.
The rustic deck was styled with vintage bunting, tealights in jars with vintage lace, sweetheart table and chairs, vintage suitcases and other accessories. We sourced some exquisite Vintage roses as a bride-to-be bouquet, fabulous champagne and strawberries. With the scene set, it was over to our debonair groom to take his girlfriend on a Sunday afternoon stroll and to happen upon our Secret Hideaway … where he popped the question, and she said yes of course (who could resist?)!
Following this, a delicious lunch at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen at nearby Watergate Bay was ‘order of the day’. We send KP & Emily our best wishes and thank them for sharing these beautiful images and wish them well with their overseas wedding.

Chauffeur, Champagne and a Private Chef
Our second proposal was equally romantic but altogether very different in style.
Our groom-to-be wished to propose on his girlfriend’s birthday and wanted to make the day fabulous in every way possible. With the season being autumn, helicopter rides and yacht charters were out of the question. So we came up with an exquisite proposal which would not allow inclement weather to spoil the day.
Having been collected from their holiday home by a chauffeur driven executive limousine, our couple were driven to beautiful Boconnoc for a sumptuous candlelit Champagne lunch. Following a tour of the estate they were chauffeured to the incredible Eden Project, where the Mediterranean Biome had been reserved for their own private use.
Before the special couple’s arrival, we had positioned church candles and tea-lights in jars throughout the biome so as our couple entered, the biome literally twinkled and sparkled before their eyes. Whilst our couple delighted in champagne, canapes and acoustic music we returned to their holiday home to style and dress it for the ultimate romantic meal for two.
We booked private chef Franckly Delicious who prepared a spectacular three course supper, and we set the scene with a fabulous array of church candles in hurricane vases, candles with candlesticks, tea-lights and a beautiful bespoke table setting for two, complete with exquisite hand-tied bouquet, carefully created for our bride-to-be.
This was such an inspiring and breathtaking day – and happily, we’re pleased to say we are now assisting Vicky and Paul with their wedding plans for June next year.
