What’s to love about vintage weddings …
We’re always looking forward, but taking reference from the past. Vintage is essentially taking elements from classic design and historical eras from days gone by. It tends to be a look that will stand the test of time, and your wedding photos won’t date: go vintage and you’ll be styling around design classics.

With our love of nostalgia for days gone by and the romance of the way things were, it’s no wonder that Vintage is here to stay as it offers so much inspiration least of all for us. As Wedding Planners and stylists, here at Blue Fizz our passion and knowledge of history and current vintage trends are key to us being able to help create stunning backdrops and settings for any event with attention to detail at every turn. Whatever your tastes, style Vintage and make your day individual, memorable and fun!

All kinds of vintage weddings …

Festival or country fair
A turn of the century cotton lace dress, tweed suits and trestle tables cider and straw bales give a strong identity to the  occasion, taking reference from May poles with cascading ribbons and stalls to entertain your guests.

Gatsby
In recent years the Vintage styles preferred by modern couples has been heavily influenced by films such as Gatsby, with a glam and linear Deco-inspired look, and a slightly more formal affair with copious amounts of mirrors, blacks, golds and blush – and Champagne cocktails of course.

Downton Abbey
Our love of period dramas has given us the ‘Downton Abbey factor’, bringing in sumptuous 30s and Art Nouveau gowns, and liquid lines with muted shades. This look is perfect for BoHo weddings; think laid back styling and barefoot brides, chill- out zones and candlelit suppers, cascading greenery and blousy blooms.

Vintage Tea Party
We’ve seen the classic Vintage Tea Party look stay strong in recent years with a nod to the 50s. This offers the opportunity to have fun with bold colours, English roses and lashings of cake. Prom style dresses and layers of petticoats top off this look to perfection.

1960s
The 60s is ever popular, as the retro trend continues to sweep the nation. This look is all about quirky venues, tailored suits and short dresses, which team with vibrant colours and strong lines. Live bands and photo booths help give energy to the day with a modern twist.
